Professional Background

I started my professional life in 2002 at the age of 16 with an apprenticeship as motor car mechanic which set me up in the automotive sector. After successfully completing the apprenticeship I went back to school to gain the necessary qualification to go to University. My admission was delayed by one year which was spent in the Air Force for my national service.

I started my BEng (Hons) degree in Industrial Engineering in 2008 at Technical University of Cologne. The course included a placement over one semester during which I worked for the Upholstery Department at Porsche AG in Stuttgart. I also included one year at University of East London during which I completed the mandatory project work with a project based module. I concluded my BEng studies with the verification of Roger’s theory of Diffusion of Innovation.

With my studies completed I started to work in the Engineering Department for Autocraft Drivetrain Solutions Ltd, Europe’s largest non-branded engine remanufacturer. Alongside my employment I completed my MSc in Manufacturing Management with the University of Hertfordshire with a final thesis on Material line feeding policy in a high variety remanufacturing environment.

Shortly after in October 2017 I started my PhD on "New Technologies to Remanufacture Combustion Engines" which is funded with an Industrial Fellowship from the Royal Commission for the Exhibition 1851 whilest still working for Autocraft.
